It is well documented that San Francisco is one of the largest homes for Biotech & Pharmaceutical companies across the globe and there is no doubt that the amount of roles released by organizations in this area is continuously growing. This initiative run by Genentech, gives the youth of today an opportunity to experience what it is like to be in a 'real life' biotech lab.
This is a great opportunity for teenagers to get a real sense of what happens in the day to day running of a lab as well as give them an insight into what careers in this industry can look like. Personally I don't believe there is enough of this sort of educational program across the states but its refreshing to see exciting projects like this!!!
Many of my clients often want to see candidates with a real passion and interest in the Life Sciences space and this sort of initiative can only be beneficial.
In My role I partner with clients from Northern San Francisco to Southern LA helping secure top talent in the Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals industry, if you would like to discuss potential opportunities, feel free to reach out and we can have a discrete and confidential discussion.
In the meantime, enjoy reading how Genentech are shaping the future employees that my clients will be employing!
Students at South San Francisco high schools will get real-life lab experience right on their own campus next year at Science Garage, a fully functioning biotechnology laboratory complete with centrifuges, thermal cyclers, gel electrophoresis machines and other equipment funded by Genentech Inc.
